Bedford Community Orchestra

The Bedford Community Chamber Orchestra was formed for talented people in their twenties and above living in the Bedford area, who play a classical instrument, but are not attached to an orchestra with. They encourage those musicians who played regularly at school or college but are now a little 'rusty', to use the skills they have gained. The idea started by some friends on a hiking and camping trip in the Peak District in the summer of 2005. They soon discovered that there were lots of young musically talented people in Bedford who did not have an orchestra to play with. It seemed a pity to waste all that talent and indeed the endless hours of tutoring and practice that it took to develop the talent They decided to act and immediately applied for a grant from the Bedford Charity for help with their basic start up costs. Their application was successful and rehearsals for their first concert began in May 2006. If you are interested in joining in then email info@bcco.org.uk and they will try to answer any questions that you may have.
