Romance in Bedford

Are Bedford Men Romantic? The 14th of February means an awful lot to so many people, the ladies in particular. Can you imagine the pressure that young schoolgirls felt when Valentines Day arrived knowing that the first question they would be asked when they arrived in school was “How Many Cards?”. How awful for them if they did not receive any, not because nobody fancied them, but because the boys that did fancy them were not the romantic type. They did not appreciate how important it was to, even anonymously, let the girl know that someone cared. Later in life it is just as important that their partner remembers to celebrate Valentines Day, not because of peer pressure, but just out of a need to feel wanted and special. For many it is the one occasion of the year that their partner buys them flowers! In Victorian times there was a practice of sending Vinegar Valentines which were intended to be amusing but actually mocked the recipient rather than praising them. Thankfully that practice has now died a death. So, come on Bedford men! Do the right thing and spoil your loved ones this Valentines Day. There are lots of brownie points up for grabs.
