Bedford "Mocktails "in Bloom


Bedford In Bloom will be making a special appearance at the Bedford Local Beer and Food Festival 2009, which is being held at The White Horse on Newnham Avenue this bank holiday weekend.


To support the selection of beers available, Bedford In Bloom will be on hand to tell drinkers about the range of everyday plants and herbs that can easily be used to make a refreshing soft drink. The Mocktails In Bloom stand will offer recipes to try and information on plants that are suitable to pop in your drinks, freeze in ice cubes or crystallise. The In Bloom team will also be bringing a selection of plants to ensure drinkers know what to look out for.
Jacky Fraser from the Bedford In Bloom team said:
"The White Horse has been an important partner in Bedford in Bloom for several years so we are delighted to attend this year's Bedford Local Beer and Food Festival. Many people don't realise that many common plants and flowers can be used to add flavour and visual appeal to summer drinks. We'll be on hand this weekend to show people how easy it is to add interest to cold drinks with leaves and flowers and find out for themselves how tasty they can be."
