
Bedford Street Entertainment Festival
The Bedford Festival of Street Entertainment will be held on Saturday 20th- Sunday 21st June 2009. Bedford will be hosting a two-day street entertainment festival . The first day, Saturday, will be staged in Harpur Square in the town centre. Sunday will see the Festival relocate to the Embankment with more Street entertainment, circus skills worskhop and from 2.30pm the reopening of the bandstand by the Mayor and Bedford Town Band. The Festival will incorporate professional street entertainers from across the country to performing on the two days, as well as performances, face painting, may pole dancing, 9 hole golf course, giant games, stalls and sideshows in Bedfords Street Entertainment Village square.

Dan the Hat
A fantastic juggler and clown with a show crammed full of ball spinning, crazy juggling, slick diabolo skills and supreme hat manipulation (not forgetting the awesome cups and spoons), all held together by his brilliant stage persona.
Daft as a Brush
Contemporary clown seeks audience for playful interactive nonsense... Gasp as he struggles through a coat hanger; as the audience race biscuits, for the honour to join Maynard in his now legendary egg catapulting stunt.

The Splott Brothers
Described as the Fezpians of Street Theatre, the Splott Brothers mix a fun cocktail of eccentric cabaret, comic stupidity and live cheesy music. As the show unfolds from their mobile piano bar, the audience are lured into the stylish and talented world of Splott. The café is set up, the waiter invites the customers to take their seats, and offers them a whole menu of tricks and foolish stunts all backed by exquisitely played silent movie style piano. Music is always played when they move about from site to site between performances.
