Panesar and Swann England Selector Dilemma England's Twenty 20 World Cup Selection

Former Bedfordshire off spinner Graham Swann is chosen for the England squad for the Twenty 20 World Cup. Swann's selection was at the expense of Bedfordshire born Monty Panesar who picked up a an injury. Monty Panesar's summer went from bad to worse at Northampton on Friday night when he suffered a dislocated finger before the Twenty 20 Cup match against Glamorgan. Panesar will probably not appreciate the irony that he suffered the injury during a fielding drill before play. He was taken to hospital for an X-ray which confirmed no break, and the fact the injury was to his right hand, rather than his bowling hand, will work in his favour as he looks for form with the first Ashes Test fewer than six weeks away.
