Bedford opened its doors to a major business today, as the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, marked the "turning of the sod" at land south of Cambridge Road, to declare the start of the building of a new facility for the international manufacturers, Lantmännen Unibake.

The Lantmännen Unibake site is located next to the Well's & Young's Centrum building and Asda's recycling plant.

Lantmännen Unibake, a company with a turnover of 700 million Euros and 3,800 employees in 18 countries, will employ 200 + people at its cold bakery facility in Bedford.
